Africa has been part of my life, not simply a destination I plan. I have lived in Botswana, Tanzania and South Africa, managed luxury lodges and spent years experiencing the continent both as a traveller and alongside the people who call it home.
The right safari is not about choosing the most famous camp or fitting as many places as possible into one itinerary. It is knowing where to go, when to travel, how long to stay and which camps will suit the way you like to experience the world.
Two camps can look equally beautiful online and offer completely different safari experiences. Location, season, guiding, the number of vehicles at a sighting, activities and even the pace of the journey all matter.
You can research all of this yourself. What is harder is knowing which choices are actually right for you.
That is where experience matters.
I take the time to understand how you like to travel, then use my knowledge of Africa and trusted relationships on the ground to guide those choices and bring everything together.
So when you arrive, you don't need to think about whether you chose the right camp or planned enough time in the right place. You can simply be there, experiencing Africa.

READ THE ARTICLE →I start with what you hope to experience, your travel dates and who is coming. Botswana may appeal if you want remote camps and a wildlife-focused journey; Tanzania or Kenya may suit a classic East African safari; South Africa offers ways to combine wildlife with cities, food and wine. I help you weigh the route, transfers and camp style, rather than choose a destination on reputation alone.
There is no single best month for all of Africa. Wildlife, rainfall and activities vary by region and season. Tell me whether your priority is a particular wildlife experience, quieter camps or travelling during school holidays, and I’ll explain the trade-offs for the places we are considering.
I prefer time to settle into a camp over a succession of transfers. We’ll work backwards from your available nights, allow for arrival and travel between places, and choose a manageable number of stops. Two well-chosen safari areas can offer more variety than rushing through several countries.
Yes, with the right arrangements. I check each camp’s age rules, room layouts, activity restrictions and accessibility before recommending it. Private guiding, shorter outings and time at camp can help different generations enjoy the same journey at their own pace.
Start the conversation as soon as you have a likely travel window, especially for school holidays, a larger family or a particular small camp. I’ll check availability before we build your plans around it. If your dates are flexible, we can explore alternatives together. Read my planning lead-time guide.
